Healthwatch is an independent voice for people in our community, helping to shape, challenge and improve local health and social care services. Healthwatch does this by talking and listening to people from every part of the community, and by holding services to account.
Healthwatch can help by –
- making sure people’s views on health and social care are heard, helping people to make improvements in services.
- providing information about local health and social care services that people may find useful.
- ensuring that everyone in our community is able to be involved, and to have their voices heard.
The service enables people to share their views and concerns about their local health and social care services.
They make sure that the views and experiences of patients, carers and other service users are taken into account when services are planned and commissioned.
They are able to alert Healthwatch England, or the Care Quality Commission (CQC), where appropriate, to concerns about specific care providers, health or social care matters.
